Lasting Imprint believes that we can make a bigger impact here in Minnesota by working with existing organizations to provide more services and support to our heart families. We are proud and honored to have established the following partnerships:
HeartWorks is a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 to build on the groundbreaking work started by the Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) at Mayo Clinic in 2010.
HeartWorks builds, tests, and delivers new therapies to cure congenital heart defects, allowing families to live full, enriching lives. HeartWorks offers the Co-op, a collaborative platform that bridges the gap between researchers and the CHD community.
Faith's Lodge provides a safe environment for those grieving a child or for those with a seriously ill child. Sponsorship opportunities are available to stay at this beautiful lodge- contact staff@lastingimprint.org if you are interested.
Camp Odayin provides fun, safe and supportive camp experiences and community building opportunities for young people with heart disease and their families. Sponsorship opportunities are available to our heart families- contact staff@lastingimprint.org if you are interested.
Minnesota-Based Resources
Help Me Grow Minnesota connects families to resources that help young children develop, learn and grow. Services offered under the “Help Me Grow” program which are designed for children birth to kindergarten who may be experiencing delays in their development for several reasons, including special health conditions.
Family Voices of Minnesota connects families with one another for support and information so they become empowered advocates improving health and quality of life for their children and youth with special health care needs and disabilities. Parent to Parent is a valuable source of assistance and information for parents because they can talk with an experienced parent who really understands.
Heart-Related Resources
The American Heart Association (AHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Founded in 1924, it funds lifesaving cardiovascular research, develops clinical guidelines for healthcare professionals, and educates the public on heart-healthy living. The AHA also provides CPR training and advocates for public health policies that improve cardiovascular care and prevention.
The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life and extend the lives of adults with congenital heart defects. Through education, outreach, advocacy and promotion of research, ACHA serves and supports the more than one million adults with congenital heart defects, their families and the medical community.
Mended Hearts exists to inspire hope and improve the quality of life of cardiovascular disease patients and their families through ongoing peer-to-peer support, education, and advocacy. The Mended Hearts® program is the nation’s premier peer-support program for patients who have cardiovascular disease, their caregivers and their families.
Quality of Life Resources
Scratch Golf helps kids with congenial heart defects (CHD) take a mental-health break from medical issues, while meeting new friends, and learning the game of golf - a heart-safe activity they can play for a lifetime. Scratch Golf is powered by the Congenital Heart Alliance, a non-profit organization resolved to overcoming CHD through funding research, global collaboration, and well-being initiatives like Scratch Golf.
Other Resources
CaringBridge is a nonprofit offering many ways for people to care for each other during any type of health event. People are able to stay connected, leave hopeful messages, and offer support. CaringBridge offers personal sties, a Support Planner and an online volunteer community, the Amplifier Hub. Thanks to those who donate, CaringBridge is available to anyone, anywhere at no cost.
